The Oh My God Im Getting Married Diaries Chapter 1 It Begins

The “Oh My God I’m Getting Married” Diaries– Thoughts from an engaged DJ

Chapter 1- It Begins

On June 8th 2013 I proposed to my beautiful girlfriend Janelle. If you missed how I did it, I suggest you check out my proposal which I recorded HERE (Have tissues ready)

DJ Dave proposing to girlfriend with surprise proposal

So she said YES! I’m the happiest DJ around…Im on cloud nine, and the video of my proposal is going viral! Then realisation slowly starts dawning on you the same way a hangover does as you open your eyes after a night on the town…I am about to start one of the most stressful and expensive tasks of my life!

“But Dave!” I hear you say “Weddings are the most wonderful and exciting things you will ever do together”

(-_-) …yeah…

Don’t get me wrong, I love Janelle but I do this for a living. My company Komodo Music do over a hundred weddings per year. I have seen so many brides and grooms fight, cry, laugh and stress over the smallest things and some of them (not a lot but a few) never make it down the aisle.

…and I am about to enter into this…voluntarily?!

So I have decided to start The Oh My God I’m Getting Married Diaries where I can not only share our progress, but also give you all some humorous insight into what goes into a wedding. Also if you have been married, this will be an opportunity for you impart your wisdom to others by leaving comments.

Ultimately (like every wedding) this is going to be stressful, expensive, but also a lot of fun! So come with me on a journey as we enter The Twight Zone The OMGIGM Diaries 😉

So what about YOU?! How did your significant other propose to you and how long were you on cloud nine for? Leave a comment below and share your experiences 😉

Can’t wait for more, infact I have some stories for you already on our own journey. There has been bullying, tears, and some real OMG I can’t believe you asked me that moments and I’m sure I will have a good laugh about it all later on. Take a deep breath, take one step at a time, and do it how YOU guys want to do, not how everyone else thinks you should do it. Looking forward to more of your stories!!

Hi David, Just read your Blog, what a great idea. I love how you’re orchestrating all the different components for your big day. I was proud to be one of the flash mob ladies in Strike a Chord. Such a special moment for all of us too. I notice you have links under the video for Wedding Video Masters and The Craftsman. We don’t have a website but was wondering if you could put our Facebook link there instead? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Strike-a-Chord-Ensemble/615716355114250
Look forward to the next installment.
PS: When is the Big Day?
Cheers Jenny
